The State of Utah - Division of Facilities
Construction & Management (DFCM) is conducting an open competition
for the construction of the following project:
LIFE SCIENCES BUILDING - SETTLEMENT STABILIZATION
AND REPAIR SOUTHERN UTAH UNIVERSITY, CEDAR CITY, UTAH
This project is for the settlement stabilization of the
Life sciences Building at Southern Utah University, including
installation of a pier foundation system and miscellaneous repairs
required by the stabilization work. Construction cost is estimated at
$322,765.00 (three hundred twenty-two thousand seven hundred and sixty
five dollars).
This will be a 2-step selection process. The
qualification documents, including the selection requirements, selection
schedule, and construction documents, will be available beginning on
Monday, March 26,2001. For procurement, technical, and clarification
questions regarding this project, please send a fax with your question(s)
to the attention of Matthias Mueller, DFCM, at (801) 538-3267. No others
are to be contacted regarding this project. No phone calls please.
Bid documents in CD electronic format will be available
for pick-up on March 26, 2001 from DFCM at the State Office Building -
Room 4110, Salt Lake City, Utah 84114, or bid documents in electronic
format are also available on the DFCM we site at www.dfcm.state.ut.us
Once in the DFCM web site, click on "Project Center,"
and then click on "LIFE SCIENCES BUILDING-SETTLEMENT STABILIZATION
AND REPAIR (99090730)." NO HARD COPY RFP, PROJECT MANUAL., AND
DRAWINGS WILL BE ISSUED AND DISTRIBUTED BY DFCM. DFCM will only provide
bid document in electronic CD format and they are free of charge.
General Contractors will be limited to two (2) copies of the CD and
Subcontractors will be limited to on (1) copy.
The Contractor must be a Utah licensed General
Contractor for the project. Association with other individuals of firms
having the appropriate expertise is acceptable. The State will enter
into a single agreement with the successful Contractor.
A Bid Bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid
amount, made payable to the Division of Facilities Construction and
Management on DFCM's bid bond form, shall accompany the bid. Prior to
submitting a bid, each bidder shall have on file with DFCM, copies of
the appropriate Utah license and a statement evidencing bond ability.
The Divisions of Facilities Construction and Management
reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any formality
or technicality in any bid in the interest of the State.
